It is very hard to train your cat to go to the toilet in a litter box, because it is against their natural instinct. Below are some tips to help get your cat to use a litter box, instead of your garden!

Make sure that you buy a little box which is easy to use and allows the cat or kitten easy access.

If you have more than one cat, have more than one litter box, one for each cat is preferred.

You can also provide multiple litter boxes around the house for one cat, so that it feels it has a choice in where to go.

Provide a litter box which is quite deep and wide, as this will allow it to move about freely and also dig after they have done their business.

Make sure you know what litter type the previous owner used, or the mother of the kitten, as this will allow you to keep your new cat happy.

Remove dirty litter every time your cat goes to the loo, as it needs to be clean for next time. It takes time, but this is very important.

If you find anything abnormal in the litter box, please go to the vet.

Hi all,

After a while deciding I’ve decided that I will be starting a blog section on the website. This came to mind after I saw people posting their cat stories on other websites, and as I have just got a new kitten I thought to myself that I wanted a place to document what my cat gets up to, and this is the perfect place.

As well as posting about my cat, what it gets up to and how I look after it, I will be posting information on how to manage your cat and some common questions about everything. If you would like to submit a question, please just send me an email by clicking on the Contact link in the header.

Thanks all, hope you enjoy.
